Silke Schuster

‘I love this company and I love working here!’

Silke Schuster knows the Deutsche Werkstätten inside out. She has been working there longer than most. Silke began her secretarial training at VEB Deutsche Werkstätten in 1982, and then worked as a management secretary in the Directors’ office. When the company was privatized in 1992, she became Management Assistant to the new owner Fritz Straub. She loves the company and the variety of her work. “Almost everything goes across my desk!: Organization of schedules and appointments for the directors, patent and brand issues, insurance, company fleet, window-cleaning and maintenance of our gardens through to World Cultural Heritage applications, maintaining good relations with the Hellerau Festival Theatre and supporting Fritz Straub in his positions on the Board of Dresden’s School of Fine Arts or at Saxony’s Chamber of Architects – all things I am involved with. That’s amazing!”

For many visitors to the company Silke is much more than just a regular employee. She is the familiar face, the person that has always been there and that people identify with the company. Silke Schuster is pleased when somebody calls and is happy to hear she is still there!  When she can make a lasting impression and to be considered one of the key figures clients and partners associate with Deutsche Werkstätten.
