Großröhrsdorf: a new production site

... for architectural interiors

Deutsche Werkstätten is growing. Interest in the company and the reputation it enjoys, is spreading, especially among architects. In response to this increased demand the company has relocated the production for architectural projects to a separate new facility in Großröhrsdorf, just 30 kilometres from Dresden-Hellerau.

A large plot of land (20,000m²) situated on an industrial estate, presented an ideal location for the construction of a new production hall and office space. The original plan was to start production there in spring 2020 with a team of ten cabinetmakers from the Deutsche Werkstätten Ohorn production unit. But almost over-night a new opportunity presented itself as Deutsche Werkstätten took on a group of well-trained specialists from a nearby joinery that had run into economic difficulties.  The new colleagues have all been trained ‘on the job’ and have integrated well. Thomas Milkuhn, operations manager in Großröhrsdorf, is delighted with his team of 25 skilled craftsmen.

"Now we have the chance to make this new location a big success. We can take on larger projects and, at the same time, can improve on agreed delivery times."

Overall, the increased efficiency allows for better cooperation between the different business units. Production work for Deutsche Werkstätten Lebensräume and additional commissions from "Client Liaison" can be handled simultaneously, delivering tailor-made solutions to the highest quality and within the required timelines.
