Thomas Nitschke, who was born in Dresden in 1967 and spent his childhood and youth in Hellerau, will present his book about the "Pedagogical Province" that existed in the "Young Hellerau". The book was published by Thelem-Verlag in 2021. The Pedagogical Province experiment still has a unique character within the reform pedagogical movement and has far-reaching significance for the present.

The idea of the humanistically intended "Pedagogical Province" - described in literature by Goethe and Hermann Hesse - was once at home in the "Young Hellerau". The National Socialists and those in power under real existing socialism fought it; but even the supporters of a neoliberal society and "market-conforming" democracy are not readily prepared to recognise the self-determination and uniqueness of every human being and to promote it fairly. ...
