Multiple Choice

From 5 October to 15 December 2023, an exhibition of works by the Berlin artist Dieter Balzer will be on show at the Hellerau Werkstätttengalerie. He was born in 1958 in Neuhofen in the Palatinate region and presently works in Berlin. The colour and geometry of his paintings develop an outstanding intensity when viewed: The works radiate, break rules, rearrange spaces and take the viewer into new dimensions.  Copyright Photo: Dieter Balzer

"Dieter Balzer is one of those artists who rearrange the repertoire of constructive-concrete art and create new contexts, expanding the connections and similarities to the circle, triangle and quadrilateral. Dynamics, spatial affinities, multi-dimensional, calculable spatial qualities characterise these constructions. In the process, Dieter Balzer succeeds in creating a constellation of spaces that are colourful, crazy and at the same time uniquely contemporary, admirably topical and enduring in terms of their artistic conception..." (Werner Wolf, Museum der Wahrnehmung, Graz)
