Reddish-brown set against slate blue

MY „Katara“

Deutsche Werkstätten services:
Planning, interior furnishing

Completion 2010

The marvellously rich reddish-brown of the Sapele tree destined for the wall and ceiling panelling of the guest staterooms aboard the 124-meter long Katara became the pride, joy and full responsibility entrusted to Deutsche Werkstätten. Thousands of square meters of the African veneer were handcrafted for the cabins and the corridors in the company’s Hellerau production facilities. Apart from the main deck commission, Deutsche Werkstätten was also tasked with the beauty/fitness area on the top deck uniquely cast in a glistening slate blue. Fitting the interiors in Bremen/Lemwerder alone took almost a year; all told, Hellerau craftsmen spent a good three years on this ultra-discerning project. Built under the name of “Project Crystal”, the Katara is now the twelfth mega-yacht plying the seas with Deutsche Werkstätten interior finishings since the company first entered into the yacht business in 1999.
