“Alte Brennerei” visitor’s centre, Wolfenbüttel

Diverse furnishings, design and realisation of interior fittings (bar and cloakroom elements, wall panelling)

Completion 1996

Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau furnished the “Alte Brennerei” visitor’s centre at the main Wolfenbüttel plant of Mast Jägermeister AG in 1997. The space not only sparkles brightly in Jägermeister’s colours, but the very material utilised alludes to the distiller’s successful product, the internationally-known herbal liqueur. Even the counters are made of oak and stainless steel, a visual reference to the barrels. The brushed inox plating simultaneously reflects the bold Jägermeister orange of the floor. The playful curve to the bar beckons whilst the back bar is also distinguished by curvature. Befitting such curvature, several sections incorporate corner glass display cases with curved doors. The balanced proportions and silver Koto veneer lend a touch of nobility to this cupboard line. For the executive hospitality area, Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau designed and produced wall panelling with an integrated sideboard, matching heater cladding as well as a highboard with four doors and matching drawers, all of maple veneer with inlaid morta oak. The pièce de résistance: The enormous table, 3.40 metres long, likewise in maple veneer accented by inlaid veins of morta oak. The table edges are bevelled and painted black, its legs are solid wood with a maple veneer and a decorative black groove. Interior design staff enhanced the whole with seating, lighting, window dressings and carpets.
