Concerto Spaziale Metal Sculptures by Gisela von Bruchhausen

My works are created intuitively, guided by my feeling for form and structure: I am constantly searching, mistrusting the known, rejecting old formulas in order to find something new for me. Simplicity is my goal." Gisela von Bruchhausen

To engage with Gisela von Bruchhausen's sculptures is to enter the realm of abstraction, of the non-objective, it means exposing oneself to opposites and harmonies, to experience gravity as weightlessness, to experience the static as dynamic and to understand emptiness as volume. It also means looking for one's own point of view, changing it or at least questioning it, and it demands looking openly and closely.

In one of her last self-written statements, Gisela von Bruchhausen writes: "My sculptures should have an immediate effect, in the way music works, without justification and without mediating words". ...
