Reinhard Bojak: Light-Form-Number

Light, form and number play a prominent role in the creative process of the sculptor Reinhard Bojak. In his work, the inception is often arithmetic progressions and number permutations that form a closed system. These include the early marble sculptures and the Plexiglas columns. In the other pieces stereo-metric bodies are broken down into individual elements, spheres, cubes or octahedra, then to be re-assembled so that the actual shape will appear within the body. This new type of sculpture was only made possible by the material Plexiglas in which light plays a completely new role. In the exhibition, pieces from different creative periods can be seen that illustrate this development.
